We are a sustainable studio

The beauty and hair industry isn't typically known for sustainability. We want to change that perception. By joining the sustainable salons collective and choosing products from suppliers who share our values, we're aiming to make a positive impact on the world around us. We want to be a part of the solution by taking real action. Here are some of the things we are doing:

Helping to Clean up our oceans

When we decided to go on this journey, we realised that we needed to find a supplier who shared our concerns and values. With their programme to replace all of their bottles with plastic recycled from the ocean, Kevin Murphy was a natural choice.

Your hair helps clean up oil slicks

Hair clippings from our studio are collected and used to help clean up oils spills around the world. Collectively from February 2015 to November 2018, Sustainable Salons collected nearly 19,000 kg of hair which could be used to clean up over 60,000 litres of oil.

Pony tails for medical conditions

ponytails we cut are distributed to charitable organisations and local wig-makers where they can become wigs for those suffering from medically-induced hair-loss conditions such as Alopecia and cancer
